Back in the old days (1960s and 70s) when the rest of our friends were wearing drug store costumes for Halloween that cut their eyeballs and filled their faces with wet, carbon monoxide from their exhaling, my brother, sister and I were wearing amazing costumes my mother made us.
Of course, I would have preferred a drug store costume because we all want what everyone else has. Looking back though – I admit this is one skill of hers I envy and did not compare to her creativity. I was Mae West when I was in the 1st Grade for crying out loud. I never even tried to top that.
